Stories from the Field

Soap Can Change Lives

We have been secretly working on a long-term project for the last few months and we are excited that we are finally able to share it with you!

You are familiar with Pacha’s buy-one, give-one model. Through this model, “Raise the Bar,” we have implemented the first two facets of our three-part mission statement: “to create the finest, environmentally sustainable products while providing maximum benefit to all stakeholders” and “to support WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) efforts through education and donation.”

But you may not be familiar with the third and final facet of Pacha’s goal, which is “to implement sustainable solutions to the poverty cycle through entrepreneurship.”

We are happy to announce the successful implementation of this vital third component of our company’s mission!

Abi and Andrew recently traveled to Burundi, Africa in order to help establish and dedicate a soap factory in Kamakara, located in the northwest corner of the nation. This factory provides employment for five women and two men in Burundi’s Kamakara community, and thanks to your purchases of Pacha, the surrounding schools receive a consistent supply of soap!

We are honored to partner with the organization Imagine Burundi-Terimberei in order to make this new program a reality–and we are so grateful you have come along side us in this mission. Thank you for your continued love and support!
