W.A.S.H. Wagen Tour: Stopping For A Spot Of Tea

I’m writing this blog at The Coffee Shoppe in Wayne, NE. The “usuals” just finished their morning coffee and chit-chat hour, and now it’s just Andrew and me in this little shop. I love the Midwest; earlier, I ordered a cup of tea for $0.94 and didn’t have cash to pay for it. The waitress didn’t know me from Adam, but gave it to me gratis. Not a huge deal, but wasn’t that sweet of her?

I grew up in Nebraska, and love this area. Don’t get me wrong, I love visiting new places and meeting all sorts of people, I just find myself so at home here. On this first W.A.S.H. Wagen trip, Andrew and I traveled though Indiana, Iowa, Illinios, Minnesota, and I think we even grazed the top of Missouri. Yes, we met a few cantankerous people along the way, but overall, we are so grateful for the stories we’ve heard, the places we’ve seen and the people we’ve met.

The W.A.S.H. Wagen will most assuredly visit many other states (maybe even this fall!), but it will always feel so good when we arrive… home.
